I liked this cookbook, but there were a few things that I didn’t love。 I know the chef is famous and that’s bound to be a selling point for the book, but honestly, we don’t need that many pictures of him。 Besides that, these recipes have a lot of ingredients, and many are quite unique, so I don’t think this is a great cookbook for your day-to-day meals。 It’s better for when maybe you want to try something new, or you’re having some family and friends over for a meal and you want something specia I liked this cookbook, but there were a few things that I didn’t love。 I know the chef is famous and that’s bound to be a selling point for the book, but honestly, we don’t need that many pictures of him。 Besides that, these recipes have a lot of ingredients, and many are quite unique, so I don’t think this is a great cookbook for your day-to-day meals。 It’s better for when maybe you want to try something new, or you’re having some family and friends over for a meal and you want something special。 The instructions are clear, and I didn’t have any trouble following along as a tried a few recipes, but I would have liked some pictures illustrating the different steps, because that’s very useful when it comes to cooking something new。 Sandwiches & Cousins and Carb Comas were probably my favorite chapters。I received an eArc via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I’m a Queer Eye fan who’s also obsessed with cookbooks and trying new recipes, so Antoni Porowski’s Lets Do Dinner is exactly what I needed。 I really appreciated his playful takes on classic dishes and all the fusion he brings by adding Greek, Indian, Japanese, Canadian, and Polish elements to his recipes。He points out the fast recipes from the collection as well which is a great thing to have on hand for a busy weeknight。 There are quite a few recipes that I can’t wait to try, especially the “l I’m a Queer Eye fan who’s also obsessed with cookbooks and trying new recipes, so Antoni Porowski’s Lets Do Dinner is exactly what I needed。 I really appreciated his playful takes on classic dishes and all the fusion he brings by adding Greek, Indian, Japanese, Canadian, and Polish elements to his recipes。He points out the fast recipes from the collection as well which is a great thing to have on hand for a busy weeknight。 There are quite a few recipes that I can’t wait to try, especially the “lazy” pierogi, the Sheet Pan chicken with rosemary and grapes, the Polish take on Banh Mi, and the veggie-based dinners that seem very hearty and filling。I look forward to cooking my way through this book。Thank you to NetGalley and HMH for the digital ARC。 。。。more

Antoni's second cookbook is just as beautiful as his first。 The book is broken into several different categories, one of which is devoted to eggs (YUM!)。 I'm in love with the Oozy Egg and Sausage Sandwich with Melty Cheese and Giardiniera (although I did have to make some adaptions since I can't have pork or gluten)。 The Lamb Burgers with Cilantro Chutney are also amazing! I noticed some other reviewers mentioned that the ingredients were hard to find/not normal pantry staples。 While that may be Antoni's second cookbook is just as beautiful as his first。 The book is broken into several different categories, one of which is devoted to eggs (YUM!)。 I'm in love with the Oozy Egg and Sausage Sandwich with Melty Cheese and Giardiniera (although I did have to make some adaptions since I can't have pork or gluten)。 The Lamb Burgers with Cilantro Chutney are also amazing! I noticed some other reviewers mentioned that the ingredients were hard to find/not normal pantry staples。 While that may be true for some people, I found that most of the pantry ingredients were things I normally stock or I could easily make substitutions。 I also plan my menus at least a week ahead of time so I didn't have any issues with the recipes being too time consuming for a weeknight meal。 I do come home every day for lunch and have gotten into the habit of prepping my dinners then。 If you have a very limited time to make dinner and don't want to do any prepping ahead of time, you may want to save the recipes for the weekend。 I was provided and ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Antoni: Let's Do Dinner is perfect for people who want to cook something a little fancier without having to spend hours and lots of money to do it! What a fun cookbook!! This is the second cookbook from Antoni Porowski, and it does not disappoint。 I'm not a cook。 I fumble my way through the kitchen enough to feed myself and can sometimes rise to the occasion to scrap together a good old-fashioned midwest casserole, but that's about it。 Cookbooks often frustrate me, because they contain ingredients that I have either never heard of or never have in my pantry- honestly is there anything worse than going out and spending money on something you What a fun cookbook!! That's why this cookbook was such a godsend。 Antoni includes a list of pantry staples in the beginning pages, and you bet your ass I hit that screenshot button so fast my head spun。 This cookbook not only makes consistent use of the pantry list but also contains items that you can reuse for other things you cook, time and time again。 My absolute favourite thing about this book, though, is how no-nonsense the recipes are。 While reading this book for inspiration before a grocery trip, I thought to myself 'yeah, I can totally do this' on practically every recipe。 It's not complicated, but also fancy enough to impress dinner guests (and I can finally retire that old casserole recipe!)。 。。。more

I love this cookbook! The recipes are very pretty to look at and they all sound delicious。 The pictures make my mouth water and I simply want to taste everything。 I like how the sections are divided and it makes it easy to find what you are in mood for。I’ll be sure to try probably all of these recipes and I’ve shared some of them with my mom, who is a chef, and she thinks they look amazing too。 I’ll be off cooking with my mom now,

I’m going to start by saying the pictures in this book are amazing。 In this cook book it seems to have a little something for everyone which is amazing。 The recipes seem easy to follow and I do plan on trying a few。 The downside for me is the fact that some of the ingredients aren’t readily available to me。 Some of the recipes, although simple, aren’t really something I would turn to on just any day。 This wouldn’t be my go to cookbook but it definitely has a few gems。

It is safe to say that Antoni eats differently than I do。 His recipes just seem fancier than my typical meals。 I think this would be a great recipe book when you're in the mood to try something different or maybe impress someone, but it would not be an every night kind of cookbook for me。 It is not filled with recipes that would become regulars in my home。 I was a little surprised at the variety of recipes。 Some would make a great breakfast or lunch, so even though the book is titled "Let's Do D It is safe to say that Antoni eats differently than I do。 His recipes just seem fancier than my typical meals。 I think this would be a great recipe book when you're in the mood to try something different or maybe impress someone, but it would not be an every night kind of cookbook for me。 It is not filled with recipes that would become regulars in my home。 I was a little surprised at the variety of recipes。 Some would make a great breakfast or lunch, so even though the book is titled "Let's Do Dinner" you are offered recipes that could be enjoyed any time of day。 So, if you're more of a morning person and don't have time to make extravagant dinners, there may be a recipe included that you'd like to try in the morning。 There are several recipes in this book that look interesting and delicious, but unfortunately due to my personal dietary restrictions most of them are not recipes I will be able to eat。 So, it doesn't seem there is too much included that I will be rushing to try。 I am most looking forward to a quick and easy looking fish & asparagus meal。 Antoni offers 4 different butter toppings to go with it。 I think I'll go with the Lemon-Tarragon。。。 or maybe the Miso-Scallion。 I also think the Sheet Pan Chicken with Rosemary and Grapes looks interesting and I'll give that a try soon。 I've never cooked with grapes。 I've added them to a salad, but a sheet pan with chicken? Never thought of it。 I enjoyed this cookbook and Antoni's commentary throughout。 I like that he offered some suggestions for substitutes to make the recipes more flexible。 It's worth a look if you want a recipe to get you out of a dinner rut or you're just in the mood to try something different。 3。5★ #UntitledCookbook #NetGalleyThank you to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for providing me with a complimentary electronic copy of this book。 Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own。 。。。more

As much as I ADORE the ‘Lazy Pierogies’ and ‘Croque Signore’, the rest of the recipes wasn’t so special/unique that it needed to be published in a cookbook (in my opinion, of course)。 Too many of them felt a lot to me like those fusion/Pan-Asian restaurant dishes。 This cookbook is a perfect gift for people who don’t really cook – and/or on some kind of ‘healthy’/veggie diet (but have room for ‘cheat days’)。 I love Antoni Porowski, but sadly this was just wasn’t my kind of cookbook。 Perhaps I had As much as I ADORE the ‘Lazy Pierogies’ and ‘Croque Signore’, the rest of the recipes wasn’t so special/unique that it needed to be published in a cookbook (in my opinion, of course)。 Too many of them felt a lot to me like those fusion/Pan-Asian restaurant dishes。 This cookbook is a perfect gift for people who don’t really cook – and/or on some kind of ‘healthy’/veggie diet (but have room for ‘cheat days’)。 I love Antoni Porowski, but sadly this was just wasn’t my kind of cookbook。 Perhaps I had too high of an expectation; I swear I was screaming on the inside when I received the advance reading copy。 Oh, but the photographs were absolutely stunning。 Ah, I prefer his other cookbook, Antoni in the Kitchen。 。。。more

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC。This book is very Antoni - merging the sophisticated with the everyday。Some of the recipes seemed to go out of their way to suggest esoteric ingredients, while others helped to dress up something simple。 Not really my style of cookbook, but it fulfilled my expectations。
